A group relaxation session provides a lasting sense of

Pregnancy relaxation sessions

Relaxation and Visualisation
The Session
Lying on the floor with closed eyes, the session will
begin with a guided visualisation. This promotes and encourages a deeper state
of mental relaxation. This is followed by a fractional relaxation, which
relaxes the body bit by bit. When the body and mind are completely relaxed
suggestions for more mental calmness and physical relaxation are easily and
readily accepted into the subconscious mind. Other benefits can be built into
this part of the session, such as suggestions for more confidence, competence,
and better quality sleep. The session ends as the group are brought gently out
of relaxation using a structured and safe method. The immediate benefits are a
refreshing feeling of mental calmness and released physical tension.

Healthy Pregnancy
This
session provides suggestions for more relaxed muscles, improving the skin’s
natural elasticity, more healthiness and fitness, blood pressure at a safe
level for you, progesterone and oestrogen levels remaining correct, choosing
beneficial foods for you and your baby, and enjoying a better quality sleep.
Mental calmness promotes better working relationships. The
mind absorbs more information when it is relaxed and so taking on board, memorising
and retrieving new information becomes easier and quicker. Attitude, focus and
motivation are improved and stress levels are reduced.

Some pregnancy sessions may focus on visualising a good
birthing experience, helping you to think positively about the challenges
ahead.
